Manufactured from stainless steel and specialist cryogenic alloys, it provides isolation and flow control in liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen service at temperatures down to -196°C. Both soft-seated and metal-seated sealing configurations are available, allowing the valve to be specified for tight shutoff or fire-safe duty. The extended stem design keeps operator handwheels above the thermal insulation layer in cold box installations.

At this temperature, nearly all standard materials become brittle and seals fail; OMB's use of specifically selected low-temperature alloys and design methodologies addresses these challenges. Available in ½" to 10" at ASME Class 150 to 600 (10 MPa), the C-330 serves fusion energy research facilities, space propulsion test stands, and helium liquefaction plants where the preservation of precious LHe inventory depends on valve integrity.

The ball valve configuration provides full-bore flow with minimal pressure drop, making it the preferred choice for main line isolation in helium recovery systems, liquid hydrogen transfer pipelines, and cryogenic storage tank connections. Low-temperature alloy construction and both manual and actuated operation variants ensure the Duex can serve both isolation and automated emergency shutdown functions. Soft and metal seating address varying leakage class requirements.
